after reading matt25... the words that gripped me was,

be watchful!

25th July morning i woke up with this word in my mind: Vigilant

I guess that means to be vigilant.

God provides good samaritans along the way...

As i was looking back at the year, it dawned upon me that not only provided the inspiration, passion but also the people to walk this path and encouraging me. Thank God for Victor. May i be a blessing to him as he is to me.

tri as hard as you can...

race day has come... the race started at 1130am

butterflies in tummy.

just finish it... but push as hard as you can.

in the 1st lap of the swim, i was getting cramps in my left toes... woooo scary... not even 2nd lap... bummer... how?

On the bike ride, behind the left knee was hurting, water was insufficient and could not seem to go more then 36km/hr...

On the run, met Ross who became my running buddy... chatted along the way and tried to enjoy the view. Where are the chicks? he asked... found out that we were in the same kind of industry...

almost did not finish the race with him but managed to. Was happy to finish under 3 hours... wozers.

In retrospect, i felt God tell me that i did not have to worry about the circumstances... pinch nerve and stomach flu...etc the thing was to trust him in that if he put a passion in my heart, then he would bless with results... no need for human striving... God is God after all.

6days before osim, i just had a shower and was about to go to work... whilst drying my hair, my pinch nerve reacted. I could not sit, lie down and even wear my pants... the first thought was what if it had happened in the water during the race... i could have died.

Went to see Wasserman and he treated me on monday, tuesday, wed and friday. He said that he would try to put me back on track for the race. I was a little sad as i was planning to do some final prep and conditioning before the race... what a major boo boo...

Then on wednesday, J had stomach flu. On thursday abbi got it and threw up... on friday i threw up...

how bad can it go huh? On sat afternoon i threw up again... i only had porridge for dinner and i was concerned that i could not carbo load. lots of liquids, glucose and coke...

would i make it??? perhaps just aim to finish it la.

My aim however, is to complete it under 3 hours....

prayer meeting - creator

it was good that i turned up cos God spoke to me...

whilst praying for raising funds for the church, a.doris declared thru her prayer that God was the creator of the thousand cattle on the thousand hills, therefore what is the amount we needed to raise.

I was brought to realise that hey, indeed my life is in the hands of a God that is bigger then my biggest problems... it was like a light buld went up.

as 2006 unfolds... I know it's gonna be an exciting year

So far have been tremendously blessed... some pages brought tears to my eye as I feel how God working in the lives of those who love Him...

Shared with phebe how inadequate i feel... only to be encouraged to trust God.

My heart is excited yet trying to remain composed on the outside... Lord please speak to me as to what you want me to do... 2 years is not much... for now, will offer my work at YO as an offering of my life...

2006 surely holds lots of excitment

pastors message on 1st Jan 2006 was a blessing already... Have a grateful heart overflowing with thanksgiving and obey God for the thing that he has put in front of me a day at a time.

Goal Setting

1) Determine your position
- you have to ask yourself, appraise your life, take an honest appraisal. If you don't know where you are right now, how do you expect to acheive success. In your life, career, marriage

- a goal has to be specific.
- if you can say it you can have it.
- abraham said " you shall go to my country to take a wife for my son..."
- what do i want to be,

4) Describe the profit(reward)
- if not there is no motivation
- eg if you believe... then you will have eternal life.
- God is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him. If you seek me, I will prosper you, heal you...etc
- We need to know the value of the goal.
- eg. why do I want it? How will i feel when i achieve it? Why am I investing time & money in this?
- eg. Pastor Kong's reward "Kong you good and faithful servant"

5) Desire in prayer
i) reveals my desire - God answers deep desire.
ii)reveals my dependence - God I need you.

6) Diagnose the problems/identify the barriers
- identyify the road blocks/barriers
eg. you want to get promoted... or you want to get married...

Prob 16:9 God's part is to direct us, but we must plan Action Plan

7) Design a plan

8) Discipline your personality/character
eg growing business require growing businessman,
eg growing churches require growing pastors

vs56 discipline on time... your time is your life. If you're wasting your time, you're killing yourself.

If you're not willing to sacrifice, then you'll never achieve... is it worth it?

- you'll never get very far w/o people skills. cooperation, work with people.

what have i got to thank god for...

First night of the camp and i was wondering whether I should be going up to testify...

ended up not going forth...

But there are so many things to thank God for:-
1. Car battery that died and got replaced 2 days b4 going up to portdickson.
2. Having got well enough to travel... don't take health for granted... (have lost weight back to 65kg already)
3. wife and kid, for family...
4. that He wants to speak to me everyday... That God asked me to trust Him for the business...

Speak to me Lord...

this was the title of our church camp... how appropriate...

before this i was on mc for 5 days. 5 days of misery... a little bit of suffering compared to perhaps what serene is going thru... in any case, I think God has helped me identify with her even though I it was just 5 days. Back was aching and fever was hovering around 38 degrees...

no fun.

was wondering whether God was trying to attention. In any case, thats what I told Him.
